3. mCash
transfer
mCash is one of the mobile money
operators (MMO) in Nigeria.
It works with any kind of phone
and all mobile networks.
So if you don’t have mobile
banking set up or you use a non-smart phone, this option will suit you.
It's fast and easy. Just like
SMS.
PLEASE NOTE: the
sim you use for this must be for the number you used for BVN. Else, it won't
work.
Here are the steps...
STEP 1: Type
*402*83300138*amount#.
Something like this...
For example, if you are paying
for MAGNETIC flier creation...
Dial: *402*83300138*3000#
Then press "send".
Another screen will show up. It
will show the list of all the banks you have account with.
Something like this...
Notice the numbers beside the
bank names.
Bank A in the picture above is 1;
bank B is 2; Bank C is 3.
Press "reply"
An SMS-like screen will
appear.
Type the number for the bank you
chose in the previous screen.
So for example, if bank B is what
you want to deposit with, type 2; then "send"
STEP 2: Choose
Account Number
This step will only appear if you
have more than one bank account in the same bank.
It will look like this...
Take note of the number beside
your preferred account number and press "reply".
The SMS-like screen will appear
again.
Type the number you took note of
in the previous step.
For example, type 1 if the first
account is what you want to deposit with.
Type "Send".
STEP 3: Insert
your date of birth
This step only appears if you’re
using mCash for the first time. After this one time, you will not need to do
this again.
It’s also likely that it won’t
appear.
If it doesn’t appear, don’t
worry. Just continue with the next step.
If it appears, just type in your
date of birth with this format: ddmmyy. That is; day, month, year.
For example, if your date of
birth is 9th February, 1960, you will type 09021960.
If your date of birth is 13th
October 2000, you will type 13102000.
Please no space in between.
Everything should be joined together.
Press "send".
Then the last step will appear.
STEP 4: Type
or Create Your Password
If you've never used mCASH, you
will need to type in any 4-digit number.
Please type a number that you can
remember and keep it secret. That number is your passcode.
You will need it the next time
you want to use mCASH.
Then press "send".
You will receive a message that
goes thus "Thank you for using this service. Your payment of #3000 with
ref #xxxxx was successful".
Please copy out the ref number and text or
email it to me. I need
it to verify that the transfer came from you. You can call me to get my email. My
number is 08121374334.
PLEASE NOTE: mCASH
will charge you N20 for the service.
I look forward to hearing from
you.
